Investors nervous as ISEQ falls

THE ISEQ index fell a further 88.43 points to 4,309.75 with investors extremely nervous over the current Irish economic situation and the global credit crunch.

There is still considerable unease and uncertainty as to whether a buyer can be found for beleaguered investment bank Lehman Brothers.

In the financial sector, the banks were badly hit. AIB dropped 25c to €7.85, Bank of Ireland dived 43c to €5.09, Irish Life & Permanent weakened 25c to €6.55, while Anglo Irish Bank closed at €5.07, a drop of 29c.
