Anglo Irish to sell Austrian subsidiary

ANGLO Irish Bank is to sell its Austrian private banking subsidiary to Swiss banking group Valartis for an undisclosed sum.

Anglo Irish Bank (Austria), accounted for 1% of the 667m pre-tax profits the group made in the first half of the year.

In 2006 it sold off its trust business in the Isle of Man and its Swiss private banking operations earlier this year.
