H&M’s Irish stores defy retail trends

H&M, the Swedish fashion retailer, increased sales at its Irish stores by 14% to €24 million in the six months to the end of May this year.

Its seven Irish stores performed well above the 8% group’s average sales increase. In the three months to the 31 May 2008, the stores had sales of €12.7m, up 4% from the same period last year.

The retailer did not say if it plans to open more Irish outlets this year.
