Reminder of farm payment deadline

FARMERS were reminded yesterday that the closing date for receipt of amendment forms under the 2008 Single Payment Scheme is June 3.

Minister Brendan Smith said he is anxious that farmers be fully aware of the date as it allows them the opportunity to make amendments to their applications, without incurring a penalty.

He said the deadline is June 3 because it is the first working day after the regulatory deadline of May 31, a Saturday.
