RESIDENTIAL rents are starting to fall for the first time in four years, as the amount of available properties doubles.

This is according to the latest report from property website, Daft.ie which said rents have fallen consistently since the start of the year and are on average 2% lower than in January.

The average rent nationwide stands at €1,369, down from €1,400 in late 2007.
