Falling bank shares lowers ISEQ

THE ISEQ index of Irish shares ended the week at 6,431.38, falling 51.28 points yesterday as banking shares sent the index lower.

The financials eroded some of their recent gains with AIB falling 30c to €13.75, Bank of Ireland shed 20c to €9.10, Irish Life and Permanent dipped 13c to €11.21 while Anglo Irish Bank lost 10c to close at €9.60.

Construction giant CRH added 15c to €23.85, Kingspan fell a further 13c to €7.63, and Grafton fell back 14c at €5.30.
