Dempsey to talk at conference

ESB chief executive Padraig McManus and Transport Minister Noel Dempsey will be among the guest speakers at the annual conference of Engineers Ireland later this month.

The organisation has also linked up Environment Minister John Gormley, Eirgrid chief executive Dermot Byrne, and Greenstar head Steve Cowman as speakers for the conference, which takes places in Limerick on April 17 and 18.

Engineers Ireland director general John Power said yesterday: “Delegates at this year’s conference will be able to hear the international perspective on the emerging issues facing engineering globally. We’re delighted to have such a diverse speaker line-up to tackle the vast array of topics that need to be discussed.”
