UNIVERSITY fees should be introduced in Ireland for those that can afford them.

Sutherland: Well-off should pay for university

This would help solve the lack of funding in third level education here, said BP chairman Peter Sutherland.

Mr Sutherland, who is also chair of the London School of Economics, said the issue of fees is sometimes discussed as an issue around social equality, whereas he believes it is in fact the opposite.
