IRELAND is talking itself into an economic crisis, but things are not as bad as is being portrayed.

This, according to BP chairman Peter Sutherland, is not good because it’s all about confidence when it comes to the economy, and making things seem worse than they are “is the last thing that we should be doing”.

Mr Sutherland spoke of “uninformed commentary” in the British media that is referring to Ireland as a “bubble economy”.
