Milk quota increase must be used

THE 2% milk quota increase must be used to full advantage while pressing for further increases in the years ahead, according to Labour Party agricultural spokesperson, Sean Sherlock, TD.

“Minimal milk quota increases during a time of unprecedented milk shortages is not in the long term interests of European dairy farmers or those of the global dairy sector,” said Mr Sherlock.

“We have the capacity to meet demand,” he added.
