Market static after fluctuations

THE ISEQ Index had a topsy turvy day yesterday, making gains in the first few hours of trading, then falling over 90 points in the afternoon before closing at 6,490.03 down 6.84.

Market static after fluctuations

ECB president Jean Claude Trichet told the European Parliament that it was important to keep a tight control on inflation, thus dampening hopes of an interest rate cut in the short term.

AIB lost 12c to close at €14.35, Bank of Ireland shed 9.8c to finish at €9.20. Anglo Irish dropped 11c to €9.11.
