THE Dublin market closed the week modestly ahead despite losses on many other world exchanges.

Political uncertainty in Pakistan seemed to affect US markets on Thursday night, which had a negative knock-on effect on many European markets yesterday.

The ISEQ index finished 51.68 points ahead at 6,950.92.
