Market to grow 40% to €15bn

THE domestic Irish food and drink market is set to increase by almost 40% to more than €15 billion by 2020, driven by an expanding population and rising incomes.

However, this figure could rise to €18bn if Irish food suppliers can anticipate and respond to emerging consumer needs.

These have been set out in a new Bord Bia report, entitled Anticipating Tomorrow, which was launched in Dublin yesterday.
