C&C concerns over cider consumption

CIDER maker C&C will have little to cheer about this Christmas if falling consumption in Britain and Ireland fails to pick up over the festive season.

Volume sales of the apple based drink were down 23.35% by volume in September and by 5.9% in October.

In Britain the group has been battling hard to recover sales in that market where bad summer weather and weak distribution has resulted in far weaker sales than anticipated in that market.
