Market builds on gains

THE ISEQ index closed higher for the second consecutive day yesterday as the financials pegged back some ground.

The Irish market added 83.30 to 7,862.15.

The banking sector had a moderately positive day with AIB gaining 42c to €16.90 and Bank of Ireland tacking on 23c to €12.25. Anglo Irish recovered some of the previous day’s losses clawing back €12.9c to €11.47. Irish Life & Permanent climbed 16.2c to €15.80.
