Pension fund returns ‘solid’

THE National Pensions Reserve Fund reported a return of 5.9% for the first nine months of the year and a return of -0.9% for the quarter. The fund’s value at the end of September was €21,261m.

Dr Michael Somers, the Chief executive of the National Treasury Management Agency, which manages the fund, said that despite volatility in global markets in the third quarter of the year, this is a solid investment performance by the fund.
