Horticultural grant scheme announced

DETAILS of the first round of the grant aid scheme for the development of the horticulture sector under the National Development Plan (2007-2013) have been announced by Junior Minister Trevor Sargent.

The closing date is November 30 and only investments commenced after the issue of letters of approval will be eligible.

Minister Sargent said the aid, set at 40% (50% in the case of young farmers) of total capital investment, will fund projects in commercial horticultural production carried out in 2007/2008.
