THE ISEQ Index recovered somewhat in line with markets worldwide after central banks pumped further cash back into the system to help boost ailing markets.

The Irish exchange closed up 166.78 to 8,513.50.

The financials led the field, with all main players ending positively. AIB and Bank of Ireland climbed 80c and 51c to €19.20 and €13.85. Anglo-Irish jumped 65c to €14.05 while Irish Life & Permanent strengthened 60c to €18.20.
