MANY shelves at Marks and Spencer’s Irish stores were empty yesterday as the company said it was exercising caution following the outbreak of Foot and Mouth in Britain.

M&S said it is awaiting clarification from the British government regarding prepared meals, which includes sandwiches.

They said however they are working with Irish suppliers to ensure they can supply customers here with sandwiches and prepared meals.
