Cork airport to see 70,000 passengers

UP to 70,000 passengers are expected to use Cork Airport this August weekend.

Airport management said that the inclement weather at home this summer has meant that people have been booking flights and holidays to sunnier climes in destinations such as Spain, Portugal, France, Greece and other summer hot spots.

Cork Airport is also celebrating the first year of operations at the new terminal, as the three millionth passenger to use the new terminal passes through the airport this weekend.
