Irish Mail on Sunday publisher hit by losses totalling almost €70m

ASSOCIATED Newspapers (Ireland), the publisher of the Irish Mail on Sunday, continued to suffer huge losses last year.

Accounts just filed for its Irish operation show retained losses have swollen to €68.2 million by the beginning of last October, nearly €8m more than at the end of the previous financial year.

The pre-tax loss in 2006 was equivalent to around €150,000 a week, against a loss of €174,538 in 2005.
