Ryanair fall drags back market

THE ISEQ went into freefall yesterday as sharp declines among the financial stocks and Ryanair weighed heavily on the index.

The market closed 247.45 lower at 9,715.99.

Banking stocks were in decline overall. AIB shed 75c to €21.79, while Bank of Ireland lost 36c to €15.60. Anglo-Irish was 14c weaker at €17.39 as Irish Life & Permanent gave up 83c to €19.82.
