Market moves back towards 10,000

THE Irish Index made slight gains on the day despite low trading volumes.

The exchange added 13 points to 9,927 while the British, German and US markets were closed.

AIB added 2c to €22.68. Bank of Ireland was 17c stronger at €16.67. Irish Life and Permanent gained 14c to €20.77. Anglo bucked the trend dipping 5c to €17.10.
