Market posts slight gain

THE ISEQ Index nudged ahead slightly yesterday following Wednesday’s slump, closing 13.58 higher at 9,578.01.

Financials were lower although AIB and Bank of Ireland were relatively flat closing at €22.39 and €16.36. Anglo-Irish dropped 11c to €16.36 while Irish Life & Permanent was 8c weaker at €19.42 ahead of its AGM.

In construction, CRH fell back by 2c to €34.38 while Grafton jumped 16c to €11.50. Kingspan was 12c higher at €21.05 while McInerney shed 19c to €13.90.
