EC extends Ryanair bid deadline

THE European Commission has extended until July 4 its deadline to rule on Ryanair’s €1.48 billion hostile takeover bid for Aer Lingus.

It said it needed another 15 days to examine an offer, likely put forward by Ryanair to make changes to the deal in the hopes of winning regulatory approval.
