Financials weigh heavy as market falls

The ISEQ Index closed slightly weaker as the banking and construction sectors weighed the market down.

The Dublin exchange fell 66.72 points to 9,632.81.

Among the financials, AIB fell 23c to €22.12 after media speculation of an approach to EBS was rejected. Bank of Ireland shed 15c to €16.48, Anglo Irish lost 22c to €16.37 and Irish Life & Permanent dropped 29c to €21.20.
