Market closes slightly higher

SHARES in Dublin closed slightly higher yesterday having spent much of the day in the red.

The ISEQ Index finished the day up just 5.01 points to 9,552.88.

Financial stocks were mixed following the ECB’s decision to hold its key regulatory interest rates unchanged. AIB and Bank of Ireland gave up 14c and 8c to €21.50 and €16.12 respectively. Meanwhile Anglo-Irish climbed 19c to €16.19 with IL&P closing 5c higher at €21.05.
