Financials rise as market gains

THE Irish Stock Exchange rose 113 points to 9,531.72. Overall, the value of shares traded on the index is up 44% compared to the same quarter in 2006.

Financials rise as market gains

AIB jumped 29c to €21.50, Bank of Ireland added 5c to €16.05 while Irish Life and Permanent surged 71c to €20.95. Anglo increased 3c to €15.85.

In construction, CRH gained 29c to €33.29, Kingspan 70c to €20.99 and Grafton Group 35c to €11.68.
