Market reverses previous gains

THE Irish market gave back almost all of Tuesday’s gains yesterday as the ISEQ index slipped 43.51 to 9,357.47.

AIB and Bank of Ireland both dropped back, losing 19c and 5c to €21.26 and €16.05. Anglo-Irish Bank and Irish life and Permanent mirrored the heavyweights by shedding 21c and 45c.

The construction sector fared no better, with CRH, Kingspan and Grafton all posting negative price movements. CRH was down 8c to €32.51, while Kingspan and Grafton lost 19c and 1c.
