Commissioner signals quota deadline

A FURTHER strong signal that the European Union should not prolong milk quotas after 2015 has been given by Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel.

“But we must discuss how to make a soft landing and I will be willing to look into slight increase in quotas between 2009 and 2013,” she said.

Ms Fischer Boel said the essential thing is to give this sector predictability.
