Students to receive €20,000 bursary

STUDENTS from all over Ireland will benefit from a bursary scheme announced yesterday by the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC), the Confederation of British Industry and Universities Ireland.

Students to receive €20,000 bursary

Six of these bursaries, worth €20,000 each, will be in areas of study of business and industry, and will be sponsored by companies in these areas.

IBEC director general Turlough O’Sullivan said: “An important priority for IBEC is the availability of an educated well trained and adaptable workforce that will enable companies to compete on the world stage. The recent Forfás report on future skills provided some challenging figures that are linked with an increase in the Republic’s workforce from today’s 1.4 million to 2.5m by 2020.”
