WATER charges are now emerging as a significant and inequitable burden on farmers, Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has warned.

He said farming is a business just like any other and so is liable to charges. He believed this was accepted by the vast majority of farmers.

However, the manner in which water charges are now being levied against farmers is unacceptable.
