Bio-energy scheme deadline extended

THE deadline for the receipt of applications under the bio-energy scheme has been extended. Applications for pre-planting will now be accepted until March 30.

Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan said she is confident the new arrangements will provide every farmer with the opportunity to submit an application for pre-planting approval. Ms Coughlan urged farmers who wish to apply for the establishment grants to ensure their completed forms are submitted to the department as early as possible, as there is an overall limit on the hectarage which may be grant-aided this year.
