Market slips after early gains

THE ISEQ index finished in negative territory yesterday despite having spent much of the day in the black. The exchange closed 25.88 lower at 9,884.48.

AIB was flat at €23.45, while Bank of Ireland dropped 13c to €18.40. Anglo-Irish dipped 3c lower to €16.54 with Irish Life & Permanent unchanged at €22.45.

In construction, CRH climbed 12c to €33.24. McInerney rose €20c to €16.95. Grafton Group fell 10c to €12.69 while Kingspan jumped 40c to €21.50.
