Milk quota trade scheme unchanged

THE closing date for applications for the second Milk Quota Trading Scheme is Friday, March 9.

Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan, who announced the details yesterday, said there was general satisfaction that the first scheme worked well and general agreement it should remain unchanged.

A priority pool and a market pool, the latter to run as an exchange, will continue as the two elements.
