THE ISEQ rose sharply for the fourth consecutive day, climbing 42.88 to 8,926.91.

Of the financials, only Anglo-Irish rose, closing up 43c to €15.27. AIB fell 25c to €21.45, Bank of Ireland shed 5c to €16.70 and Irish Life & Permanent fell 6c to €19.65.

In construction, CRH rose 33c to €29.10, Grafton was up 20c to €11.44 and Kingspan jumped 46c to €17.72.
