Financials slow market progress

Financials weighed down the ISEQ yesterday as it slipped 48.11 to 8165.42.

AIB dropped 26c to €20.48 followed closely by Bank of Ireland falling 22c to €15.23. Anglo Irish fell 8c to €12.96 and Irish Life & Permanent lightened by 20c to €19.70 to cap off a poor day for the banks.

In construction, CRH added 11c to €26.73 while Grafton climbed 5c to €10.55 on the back of positive momentum in the British retail sector.
