FURTHER innovation is needed in the Irish seafood sector to maximise its growth potential, a conference was told in Dublin yesterday.

Some 100 representatives from over 50 seafood companies from both parts of the island attended the Waves of Innovation conference, organised by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), in partnership with Enterprise Ireland.

The conference was organised after research findings among international buyers of Irish seafood highlighted that while quality was a major competitive advantage, there was a need for further innovation.
