SHARES in Dublin continued to gain yesterday, thus continuing on from last week’s strong performance.

The financials were the prime drivers ahead of a US federalreserve announcement on interest rates, as the ISEQ closed up €48.20 to end the day at 7,669.50.

The financial sector gained 58.29 points overall. Among the sector leaders AIB climbed 11c to €19.78 while Bank of Ireland added 11c to €14.21. In the second line Anglo-Irish was 1c down at €11.50 while Irish Life & Permanent nudged up by 15c to €19.
