THERE are few sheep farmers having a flutter at this week’s Galway Races, the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association claimed yesterday.

ICSA sheep committee vice chairman Gabriel Gilmartin said the races at Ballybrit were out of reach for most sheep farmers with lamb prices so low.

“Ironically, lots of punters at the races will be enjoying the best of quality Irish lamb from which the lamb producers get very little benefit,” he said.
