BRITAIN is prepared to make further concessions on agriculture in the world trade talks, an Irish member of the European Parliament has warned.

Ministers from some 50 countries, about a third of the World Trade Organisation membership, began a series of bilateral and group sessions in Geneva yesterday ahead of a formal meeting today.

The delegations are under pressure to approve deep cuts to farm subsidies and steeply lower tariffs in agriculture and manufacturing.
