THE ISEQ index closed in positive territory yesterday, mirroring the gains across all European bourses. The Dublin Market closed up 42.27 points at 7394.08.

Good day for banks as AIB adds 37c

In the Financial Sector, AIB jumped 37c to €18.49, with over 3.2 million shares traded, while rival Bank of Ireland added 1c to €13.66. Anglo Irish climbed 20c to €11.65, leaving only Irish Life & Permanent in negative territory, down 20c at €18.20. Construction giant CRH gained 15c to cross the line at €25.15, while Grafton and Kingspan also closed up, 12c and 3c respectively.

Other main movers on the day included FBD, which finished 60c higher at €36.45. Fyffes announced yesterday that it expects to trade in line with expectations for 2006. The stock remained unchanged on the day at €1.36.
