THE European Commission has been accused by the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association (ICMSA) of not knowing what it is doing regarding beef.

ICMSA beef and cattle committee chairman Martin McMahon made the allegation following the commission’s decision to cut beef export refunds by a further 11%.

The Clare farmer claimed that cutting export refunds one week before the WTO negotiations at Geneva sends out precisely the wrong signal about the commission’s commitment to European beef exports.
