Rail works set to close part of Green

CONSTRUCTION plans for Dublin’s Metro underground rail system look set to impact on St Stephen’s Green. Part of the park is earmarked for closure to allow building on an underground railway station. The work could take up to three years.

The system is set to run to Dublin Airport and link with the proposed Heuston Station/Docklands rail link, all part of the €34.4 billion Transport 21 plan.
