€30m pledged for technology transfer

ENTERPRISE, Trade and Employment Minister Micheál Martin has announced the provision of a €30 million fund designed to build stronger and more professional technology transfer functions within higher education institutions.

The funding, provided through Enterprise Ireland, will ensure better economic returns are gained from R&D investment, through the development of better systems, procedures and expertise in technology transfer offices.

“This R&D investment will have a major impact on the development of Ireland’s skill base and is essential to driving the economy forward,” Mr Martin said.
