Shares slide over US rate rise fears

Shares in Dublin continued to slide yesterday amid continuing fears of a further rise in interest rates in the US. The ISEQ index closed 90.12 points lower at 7,577.21.

AIB climbed 4c to €18.23. The bank announced yesterday it is to introduce a Polish language service to. Meanwhile, Bank of Ireland gained 6c to €14.27, Irish Life & Permanent fell 90c to €18.70 with Anglo-Irish giving up 31c to €12.19.

CRH declined 30c to €25.70. Kingspan lost 16c to €12.01, Grafton Group was down 10c at €10.60, while McInerney fell 18c to €12.50.
