Inflation worries hits market

The ISEQ index fell 118.47 points yesterday to 7768.79 as inflation fears weighed heavily on investors’ minds affecting particularly the banking and construction sectors.

Bank of Ireland led the downward trend among the banks shedding 23c to close at €14.17 while AIB lost 19c to €18.26. Anglo Irish and Irish Life & Permanent completed the sector dip, falling 31c and €40c.

CRH lost 66c to finish trading at €27.90 while Grafton dropped 20c to €10.80. Kingspan declined 26c to €13.65.
