Strong trade for heavy animals

The live trade continues to be very strong for the heavy animals with improvements of €20-€30/head, but the prices for the plain light animals have slipped back.

Up to €455 over was paid for heavy bullocks yesterday and more than €400 over for heavy heifers at the top end of the market at the marts where numbers of cattle on offer are very strong for May.

At the other end of the train lightish plain animals are a poor trade with some of the Holstein-Friesian type a hard sell with prices back to €50 over €/kg.
