Low income workers ‘best paid’

IRISH families on low incomes are the best paid in their category in the industrialised world because of State benefits.

Families in Ireland with two children where the breadwinner earns two thirds of the average wage €18,194 take home €24,188, 120% of their wages.

This gives Irish families in this bracket the best take-home package in the industrialised world compared to their peers as cash payments from the State, in the form of children's allowance and family income supplement, push up take-home earnings.
