Financials lead market higher

THE ISEQ opened strongly yesterday, with positive performances from the banking sector, which staged a turnaround from previous days’ trading.

Financials lead market higher

The Dublin market closed 20.61 points up at 4697.83

Undoubtedly the biggest mover of the day was Anglo Irish Bank, which jumped dramatically to finish 40c higher at 10.85. The release of very strong full-year 2003 results heightened interest in the bank.
